Search Engine Strategies Paris 2008

Search Engine Strategies ParisSearch Engine Strategies will be held in Paris between 15 and 16 January 2008 in Grand Hotel Intercontinental.

There will be no exhibition hall and booths this year, SES Paris has decided on a more modest event and also more affordable in terms of price: 595 € instead of 995 € to attend the 2-day conference about Search Marketing : Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Advertising, Universal Search, and more. The program SES Paris 2008 is online.

We hope this will allow Search Engine Strategies to reconquer the french market, after the first 2 editions in France, far from being what SES is around the word in the field of Search Marketing.

Because we really need an event like SES in France, 2 day conference solely dedicated to Search Marketing, in order to have enought time to get to the issue of Search Marketing, share views with the profession and meet.

PS: For this edition, Loic Le Meur will open SES Paris during the welcome speech.

Google calculates SERP's in 14 minutes and goes real time!

Amazing and confirmed by many different sources in France: Google updates now its index in real time and is able to recalculate the entire ranking within 14 minutes!

More than semantics announced like the next emblematic subject of Web 3.0, I am convinced that management in time real on Internet will occupy us (emarketeurs) in the year to come, so much there is still to do in this field.

Applied to Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization the repercussions will be important and in fact a lot of new challenges will have to be raised in the next future.

To understand this strong strategic orientation of the search engine leader in the world, it is necessary to return in September 2001, when Google realizes that these organic results about Twin Towers, present only tourist articles, photographs, and old Web pages, while not being able to the search engine to answer a search made by several million people at the same time, everywhere in the world on one of the biggest catastrophe of our modern time. Google News was born from this report and this failure of Google.

It is finally not so astonishing that Google seeks to improve the relevance of its results to stay closer to the news even on its global index.

IAB Online Adspend Factsheet - First half 2006

The latest results of the UK's industry tracking study, carried out by IAB UK with their partners PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the World Advertising Research Centre (WARC), have revealed that in just six months online advertising expenditure has reached over €1.3 billion in the UK. In a depressed advertising market the internet continues to grow with 40.3% like-for-like annual growth for the first half of 2006. This takes the sector to a half year high of €1.34 billion (£917.2 million) - compared to €920.5 million (£630.5 million) a year ago - and a market share of 10.5%.

Online set to overtake national press by end of this year. Once again the internet is the fastest-growing advertising medium in the UK, commanding a market share of 10.5% for January to June 2006, up from 7.3% for the same period in 2005. This takes online advertising to within one percentage point of national press, which recorded an 11.4% share for the first half of 2006.

By comparison the internet is now double the size of outdoor (5.1%), double the size of consumer magazines (4.6%) and three times the size of radio advertising (3.4%). Online is also now half the size of the TV advertising market, which recorded a 22.7% market share following a decline of 1.3%.

TV, press, radio, and direct mail have all experienced declining revenues in the past six months (Based on figures from the Advertising Association). Online has buoyed the advertising market by contributing an additional £284 million to total UK advertising revenues, and looks set to overtake spending on national press advertising before the end of 2006.

Online Marketing Espana - February 7th and 8th in 2007

Online Marketing EspanaThe third edition of the international trade-fair and conference "Online Marketing España " will take place on February 7th and 8th in 2007.

After two editions in Palma de Mallorca, OME reached limitations to its expansion and will move to Madrid, to enable a continued positive development of the event. OME will continue to take place in Spring every year.

European SEM at IMC Stockholm 2006

sem europeOriginally IMC 2006 was scheduled to be a three day show - that has changed. It's now going to be a one day event. Why? Well - long story - but to cut it short - this is the best format for IMC 2006.

The day starts at 8.30 am with a 30 minute brief by myself about the status of Internet Marketing in general and in the Scandinavian region in particular.

Each hour will then consist of in general 30-40 minutes of presentation from 3-4 speakers plus 20-30 minutes of interaction with the audience and the moderator. Morning program from 9 - 12 will be about effective handling of visitors to your site. Afternoon program from 13.30 to 16.30 will be about creative ways of getting more traffic.
